Mattapan Tech CS100 Program

The CS100 Program is designed to introduce youth ages 14-18 to advanced programming languages and cutting-edge technologies that are essential for the future workforce. This program covers HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and Artificial Intelligence (AI), giving students a strong foundation in web development and modern tech solutions.

Students begin by mastering HTML and CSS, the core building blocks for creating well-structured, visually appealing websites. They then advance to JavaScript, a programming language essential for making websites interactive, dynamic, and user-friendly. JavaScript allows students to create responsive web applications, learn about data manipulation, and develop a deeper understanding of client-server interactions.

The program also introduces students to Artificial Intelligence (AI), where they explore machine learning, neural networks, and data-driven decision-making. AI projects help students understand how technology is shaping industries like healthcare, finance, and entertainment.

By the end of the CS100 program, participants will have gained hands-on experience with modern technologies and be equipped with highly sought-after skills for further education or entry-level roles in the tech industry.

Participants are compensated for their time, making it a financially accessible way for young people to explore potential careers in technology. The curriculum includes 40 hours of hands-on practice, where students repair and troubleshoot devices, install and configure software, and learn about cybersecurity essentials.

About Mattapan Tech's Hybrid Programs

Mattapan Tech’s hybrid educational approach combines textbook learning, instructor-led online classes, and hands-on, on-site training. Students attend class once every two weeks for in-person testing and lab work. This hybrid format allows students to overcome geographic, social, and time constraints, enabling them to study at their own pace from their preferred location, whether it be home, work, or a library.

While offering flexibility, the program still requires all students to complete at least 40 hours of mandatory hands-on practice in a conventional lab or work environment for each course. Additionally, students must take quizzes and actively participate in online forums.
